For over fifty years, PeopleMovers have been a staple of the Disney Parks' Tomorrowland areas. A never-changing futuristic idea for ease of transportation. Back in the 1960s, the new evolution of travel also brought with it, strangely, a then-modern iteration of music. Paired with many songs by writer Neil Amsterdam, the PeopleMover rose to success with its original iteration in Disneyland, before being brought over to the East Coast soon after the debut of the Magic Kingdom. Now, Future World Multimedia invites you to step aboard the moving walkway and experience a musical history of one of Disney's simplest, yet most-influential attractions from the end of the Walt Disney era, the PeopleMover. Covering music from its opening in 1967, all the way to the present iteration found at the Magic Kingdom. This music companion will go into detail about every track and artist showcased in the album.

ALBUM NOTES

DISC ONE: TRACKS ONE - SEVENTEEN

NEIL AMSTERDAM SONGS

While not initially written for the Disneyland attraction, these songs are all created by (mainly) royalty-free composer Neil Amsterdam. A majority of the tracks are from Amsterdam's "Industry In Motion" series. They were leased by the Walt Disney Company and utilized for the PeopleMover attraction, as well as the Tomorrowland area music in the 1960s.

TRACKS EIGHTEEN - TWENTY

GO, GO, GOODYEAR VARIATIONS

Based off a 60's commercial campaign of the same name, Goodyear's slogan, "Go, Go, Goodyear!", went hand in hand with the PeopleMover's soundtrack. A few versions were created based of the original theme written by Robert Lamar Thompson. It is unknown who arranged these variants, but it was likely frequent Disney collaborator George Bruns. Bruns famously wrote another one of Tomorrowland's transportation themes, The Monorail Song (Nation on Wheels).

TRACKS TWENTY-ONE & TWENTY-TWO

TRANSITION SONGS

As Tomorrowland evolved, so too did the PeopleMover. With the addition of Disneyland's Space Mountain in 1977, the PeopleMover was rerouted to give a different look at the new thrill ride. With it came a new "space-like" track by George Bruns to set the mood as guests entered this new frontier. And after the popularity of TRON in 1982, the film's computer landscape of "The Grid" was added to the PeopleMover. Using a piece of the film's score by Wendy Carlos, guests were immersed in a land of Light Cycles and Recognizers.

DISC TWO: TRACKS ONE - SEVEN

RIDE AUDIO

A self-explanatory section of the album. Consisting of the ride through audio from Disneyland's 1967 and 1987 attractions and Magic Kingdom's 1994, 2009, and 2022 attractions. As well as Disneyland's 1967 loading station music loop and Magic Kingdom's 1975 loading station music loop.
